Mamie's Eisenhower's Million Dollar Fudge

I found this fudge recipe in a 1982 news paper article.


I decided to try it out and share it with my co-workers.

The next thing you know I was baking and selling it at the pumpkin - festival.

Needless to say I didn't make enough, it went like hotcakes!!


MAMIE'S MILLION DOLLAR FUDGE



2 - cups sugar

A pinch of salt

1 tablespoon of butter

5.33 - ounce can evaporated milk (undiluted )

6 - ounce package ( 1 cup ) semi-sweet chocolate pieces

6 - ounces sweet baking chocolate, cut into small pieces

7 - ounce jar marshmallow creme

1 cup chopped walnuts


Butter 8x8 by 2 inch pan

Into a 2 quart saucepan turn surgar, salt, butter and evaporated milk.

Cook over medium high heat, stirring constantly untill
mixture comes to a full boil.

Boil 5 minutes ,keep stirring.

Remove from heat.

Add chocolate and marshmallow creme, stir vigorusly untill chocolate is melted and the mixture is a uniform color.


Immediatly stir in nuts and pour into buttered pan.
