Brick Driveways, Cobbles and Pavers

Paving Driveways with brick/stone has been around for hundreds if not thousands of years and it carries a certain timelessness that is hard to beat.

The pavers are usally applied over a crushed layer of stone. This is followed by a layer of sand also well compacted.

The sand provides a level surface upon to lay the stone.

The stone can be layed dry or set in mortar. The dried method is more durable. With the dried laid stones, the sand is swept over and into the gaps to lock them into place.

Around the edges some sort of border is needed to keep them in place.

Pavers are low maintenance, but should still be sealed every 1-2 years for durability.

Weeding in between stones might need to be done every now and then.
