Boiler - Hot Water Heating System For Your Home

Hot water systems consist of a boiler that heats the water and a network of pipes that carry it to the radiators, which then releases the heat into the home.

Hot water systems are very efficient and they maintain even temperatures.

The down side is ,since they carry water throughout the house there is always the chance that they can leak.

Also if you choose this system and want to have central air conditioning you will have to install separate ductwork.

A variation on hot-water heating is a radiant floor system. This has coils of tubing running beneath the wooden floor or embedded in a lightweight concrete slab.

When the water runs through the tubes the entire floor becomes a giant radiator. This creates very cost efficient and even heat.

Radiant floor systems that have coils embedded in concrete can take several days to bring the temperature up to a comfort zone.

So if you install one of these systems in a vacation home, where you only turn on the heat occasionally, you may have to have a back up heat source to warm the home more quickly.
